Are top-loaders available with Australia's water shortages?

We still have them

But there are no rebates on them to buy except for the F&P HE Aquasmart machine which is the same as the Whirlpool/Kenmore/Maytag HE machines in the US.

Our domestic Brands, with the exception of F&P are now all sourced from Korea, and F&P who manufacture their TL machines here but import the FL are struggling to make a profit as the TL F&P machines are no longer selling as well.

We still have Whirlpool DD Machines, the old Maytag Performa's, and SpeedQueen/Kleenmaid. No GE's however.

Brisbane currently has a Target of 140L per person per day of water consumption, that target pretty much makes running a TL machine impossible. With our FL machine we're managing 144L per person per day in our household, but that is with almost no water use outside of the house.

To water our garden, I set up my Twin-tub machines and wringers in the front yard, and pump the water directly onto the garden :)
