I have a Maytag A806 that makes a horrific sound when it begins to spin. I think the problem may be the bearings but when I got machine it had some terrible lime/scale build up. I cleaned it up but think that there is still quite a bit on the underside of the inner wash tub.

Instead of buying the parts I have my eye on another set avialable in my area and my question is that if I buy an A606 are all of the parts interchangeable? Is it possible to take the control panel from one and switch it out with the other, taking into consideration all of the wiring?

Thank you - jimmyb

Should be an easy swap, everything from the 806 will swap to the 606. You might lose the bleach dispenser, though, not all if any 606's had them.

Thank You

Sounds as though it will be an easy swap, now the only question is what color do I make the set almond or avacado green? I will keep you posted!

Maytag swap

Jimmy;
I have swaped several maytag machines washers and dryers it`s real easy .The tubs do not have to be the same size as all the cabinets intercharge. I put them side by side and just move all the wiring and parts from one to another,I would go with the Avocado Green in a heartbeat almond is just too Drab Good luck with the swap John

Bought the Avocodo set on Sunday

They are not in the best shape, the washer cabinet has a few small dents and the washtub has some discoloration at the top. The control panels are in horrible shape but thankfully I do not need them. All in all I will definitely get use out of the needed parts. I will post some pictures tonight.

Classic Gas...DG906

Finally got her cleaned up and running. I just love the blue flame of a gas appliance, seems organic and earth bound as well as etherial. Perfect combination of earth and air at work to dry with, cook with, stay warm with.
