I just done my dads's works stuff in the hotpoint and The washer paddles, all 3 fell off so I let it continue as it was on final spin when I noticed the cheapness.

So it was on the 1200 stage the rth spin in the final part and then I heard this loud bang like a firework exploded in the room and my dads shirt was torn apart and got stuck in the holes where the paddles click into place.

Enough is ENOUGH That Hoover is gonna have to come as mum didn't want it to be installed until the hottie broke down, well now at 8:25 uk time 22/09/07. The motor is now making a grinding and the drum is caput,

HOTPOINT weld the paddles from one end of the drum to the other like you did with the wm/95 series.

i had tthe same problem, i have the wma30 series and the paddles ae a different fit than most of them and had to wait 10 days for new ones to be ordered so i used wheel trim ties that you use on a car to hold them inplace did te job well for a bit... they only put these plastic parts on coz they know they are going to break at some point and you are going to have to spend money...

GDA Hotpoint Drum Lifters

Hi Richard,
The drum lifters are a common issue with the GDA Hotpoint design. I have lot count of the lifters I have fitted over the years but I have never seen all three come off at the same time. Hotpoint have attempted to modify and improve the design but with little success. Thankfully the Aqualtis seems to have much sturdier and better attached drum lifters.

Hotpoint is going to be replaced but I have a choice between a Gorenje WA1287 and A servis Easylogic 1600. I like the look of this gorenje.

I'd go with the Gorenje.... I don't think you would be happy with a Servis....

Besides a Servis with a 1600 spin? How long will the bearings last on that??

I'd go Gorenje mate! Or even a BOL Zanussi or Tricity Bendix!
