Don't let a little rust disuade you from this washer, it might not be from the washer at all, perhaps it began it's life in a garage or laundry porch, somewhere that wasn't climate controlled - it looks like it's indoors now and I'm sure if it were leaking water of any quantity it would have been cast to the curb long ago. The price isn't that out of line for both, yeah, the washer is 'old' in used appliance terms, but that is a fine dryer that you could easily sell for $75-100+ making the washer around the same price as the one you saw before. I say go for it - good luck!

Austin don't be afraid of a little rust on the cabinet. It might just be surface rust on the front panel. The panel comes off with three or four screws at the bottom, and you could just pop it off and sand and paint it. White hides many sins anyway. You could make it look great in one weekend, even if you have to paint the whole lower cabinet. The control panel looks very clean and original,so thats a real plus. I mean you have to remember this machine is 30+ years old. Dallas isn't exactly a hop and a skip away from where you live, but at least it is in your state. (: (and you can tell your mom that Spring break is JUST around the corner and you'll need something to do anyway.....) Rick |

Austin, I say go for it too if you can get it. Remember the T/L Westinghouse I left in the dumpster we were talking about over the weekend? Besides, your mom would love the trip. Maybe you could get the price lower... Jerry |
