I started cleaning up my 1960 Frigidaire Custom Imperial dryer today. I think I spent most of the day cleaning the filtrator and the inside of the dryer. There was some much lint built up and deposits on the filtrator! Finally, after many hours of polishing, cleaning, etc. I am going to replace the motor next week if time permits. Today, I realized all the time, effort, money, dedication that most of you have given to your collections. I am sorry I didn't realize at first when I joined the organization. I have a new respect for each one of you! I am realizing these machines are like "children". They need alot of care. I am little discouraged due to the fact I haven't found the matching 1960 WCI....maybe a miracle will happen soon.

Congrats on your dryer, you're right about the work - check out what the 1960 I restored looked like when I removed the top and drum. It's a wonder it was burned to a crisp!

Don't give up hope on finding the matching washer, many of us believe that having one half of the set brings good karma for finding it's mate. Post some pictures of the dryer when you have a chance - we'd love to see it.

Hey Derrek -

If you've taken your Filtrator down this far - suggest replacing the drum bearing, as per advice from a season expert ;-). I'm glad I took the advice during my recent 1955 Filtrator rebuild.

The belt number is a 4L480 - a replacement sealed bearing is Grainger item number 1L046. Otherwise the rest of the items should be re-useable or re-wire.

Ben
