Before I took the front cabinet off, I tried to "flush" the bleach dispenser... wondered why it went all over... Simple, the hose wasn't connected. |

I had one house inlet actually hooked up (cold), I had to hook up another "fill" house to the hot inlet to keep water from leaking... |

Congratulations! That is a great machine! Since those old 'Tags were meant to drain the whole tub in about 60 seconds lots of people have found their plumbing to be unco-operative so you are not alone! |

One question, Jed: I see the the 806 automatically advances from pre-wash/soak to the regular cycle. Does it use the same tub of water, or does it partially drain and refill like a Whirlpool's Super Wash cycle? If it uses the same tub of water, I'd be using that feature all the time. I think (especially stained) loads always benefit from a pre-wash/soak, but I hate to use extra water to do it. The bags of Mexican detergent I've used (Ariel, Viva, Ace, 1-2-3, etc.) always recommend a soak-then-wash routine, which makes sense to me, especially if you don't use more water or have to return to advance it to the regular cycle. Even with the pre-wash/soak, a complete cycle probably wouldn't be much longer than a normal cycle is on your FL Whirlpool. By the way, what kind of dryer is that? The door handle and its placement look quite similar to my Frigidaire. Again, congrats on getting such an awesome, classic washer. |

Now please take that blue electrical cord and suspend it from the ceiling, we wouldn't want to have you shocked while doing laundry. That was a MESS you had on that floor? How on earth did you ever clean it up? Could it be that your drain needs roto-rootering? |

The washer spins out completely between pre-wash and soak. Some savvy users would start the washer with powder detergent in the prewash, then fill the softener dispenser with liquid detergent for the main wash. At the house I stayed at for the summer of 1976, Tide went into the pre-wash and Era (remember the big orange bottle with the pump on top?) into the dispenser for the main wash. (and we didn't itch) Congrats on your new beauty! |

Yeah, I would also like to know how the bleach dispenser works.. it looks like there is a hose attached to the pump... maybe to provide suction to mix things up?? I don't know |

As the tub is filling some of the water in the tub goes into the bleach injector thru the tub to injector hose When the motor starts the pump sucks out some of the bleach and water solution It goes thru the bleach injector hose thru the punp thru the big pump to tub hose and into the bottom of the tub the pump also sucks more water into the bleach injector thru the tub to bleach injector hose When the washer spins out the water the pump drains out the bleach injector tank That makes it self cleaning It also with the bleach injector to pump hose looped around the tub to bleach injector hose it prevents the bleach from going into the tub too soon so as to give the detergent time to work It also is a unusual time bleach dispenser |
