Are these the machines with the "faucet" style filling mechanism... which I assume allows for spin rinsing the clothes. |

Came in two flavours for the United States market. Early models did not have "automatic" spin rinsing, while later models had a faucet that one either filled the wash tub or used for spin rinsing. Considering poster stated units come in Harvest Gold, am going to assume they are the later models with automatic spin rinse, as that colour was big for appliances during the 1960's and 1970's. Have a Hoover TT in my collection, and must say they are fun to use. Noisy and messy, but fun. Just as with wringer washers and large Easy SpinDrier units, if one abandons the notion of using fresh water for each wash load, and sticks to spin rinses, one can whiz through quite allot of laundry in very little time. Certianly faster than many front loading washers, and perhaps even some top loaders. L. |

I remember seeing both the Auto-Rinse model and the standard model in the stores at the same time so they could be either. There is a store in Early, Iowa that has scads of the earlier stainless wash-tub models and a few plastic-tub models around but every one of them is used and likely needs a pump. Does your friend have any parts around for these? Those are getting rare as hen's teeth now. |

I have a rather BIG ole box of Hoover parts!*LOL* IIRC, there are some belts and a spin mat, the rest are various bits, switches and so forth. Hence my need for and getting a vintage Hoover service and parts manual, to look up the darn things. Think stuff came from a former Hoover dealer or repair person as lot of things came in those little tanish/orange paper envelopes popular in the day for all sorts of things. L. |
