Just got back from "The Home Depot". Has anyone seen the brand new Maytag Centennial top load washer with the glass window in the lid? It looks like the windows that we saw in the washers of the 50's. This is NOT the Bravos but the regular top load Maytags. The model #mvwc700v. It has a higher level of sound package and full width lid bumper which gives the lid a heavy feel along with the glass window. It would be fun to see the wash action! They are also offering a matching laundry tower to go between the washer and dryer. They come in white or oxide color. Now if they would just add the lights to the backsplash and tub like my old Maytags!

Window or not those machines represent a breach in washer holiness rivaling a WCI Frigidaire.

Pity they didn't at least keep the ginormous KitchenAid agitator and matching three speed motor!!!

Were the turqouise KA agitators actually bigger than the regular Whirlpool ones?

Much so! Here is a side-by-side comparison, the KitchenAid on the left and the standard Whirlpool/Kenmore on the right! It may not look like a HUGE difference, but believe me it is! The tub sways side to side with a KitchenAid agitator!!!! (and not on high speed!)

Does somebody have a picture of the new machine?

Dryer door seems similar to orginal DC

The door doesnt look like a WP.

I picked up a Kitchen Aid pair on CL last night. It is the last of a kind as they no longer make KA laundry. The washer is huge with a huge agitator....it has the dispensers on top and not in agitator. Superba with a zillion speed selections. And black to boot. When I get them cleaned up I ll post them. Dryer is superba as well.

The KA agitator was a bit larger but, their agitation speed was slower than the W/P!!!If you put one of the turquoise K/A agitators in a Kenmore or a W/P,God help your clothes!!! They'll get shredded to pieces!!!Been there, done that Not going there anymore! The base is lower and wider than the W/P.

Aw bummer! The matching dryer doesn't have a window like the Bravos dryer does. Also, what is the Load Flex Agitator? Is it the same as the Total Care Flex Agitator my washer has?

A pity they didn't make the window round. That would have looked more retro.

Nice!

The Whirltag has recently gone on sale in Australia and I must say, I quite liked it, even though I know I shouldn't. This one has a selectable control for wash/spin speed and the lid was heavy and it seemed different enough from the Whirlpool. Love the centre knob.

Whirlpool are now selling Bauknecht front loaders here too badged as Maytag.

Round window and lighted buttons horizontally on each side of the lighted dial.

We're never happy...

I went to Home Depot and didn't bother looking for this model! They probably had it and I may have misstaken it 4 a Bravo!

I imagine whirlpool put that window in because of complaints. I have a MTW5707 model (the gold centennial one) and I sure called and bi****d about not being able to raise the lid and see what was going on with my clothes. I took care of that problem by by-passing that pesky lid switch. Of course I'm sure the switch is there due to government regulations. Some kid or stupid adult probably put their hand in the tub while it was washing.

I like the addition of more detail around the timer dial.

More Detail = More Better.

It's been a while since I've been to hte HD web site. They no longer put user & care manuals on their web site. Disappointed.

Your right. The info on the MVWC700VW came from Whirlpool Web World. The Maytag site didn't list it. They do show the MVWB models, which are Bravos...
