Funny thing is, My best friends mum had one of these! So i got a preview of it! It had the jet for rinsing and it worked on prewash. & of course the higher water level button & short wash! I've got the manual in my hand atm! I'm happy to give up 600rpm to the bosch. It means my son's clothes will be safe in my g.f's hands when she has to use it!

Hi Darren

Congratulations - I hope this machine pleases you!

I owned a WFF2200 (from memory) between 1996 and 2000. I think I'm geek enough to remember most things about it, so just ask if you have any questions playing on your mind before you get it!

I'm pretty sure that your new machine was the Which Best Buy in the mid nieties for at least one year...

Cheers

Nick

Nick!
Correct you are it was a best buy for at least one year! And it got a good house keeping award:D Did you move yours on or did it break?

I'm quite excited about getting it! Though i'm not looking forward to lifting it lol! I like how you can do a soak, helpful for babyclothes! I missed the soak option from my mums aeg! It soaked and tumbled intermittently. Do these?

Cycle times are acceptable too! Be good to have a higher water level option too!

:D:D:D

Darren,

I totally don't want to p*** on your fire here, I understand your excitement - they're a good machine.

But part of me wonders whether a 12 year old Bosch must be nearing the end of it's working life, or at least things will need replacing?

Of course, you know the history of the machine and are perfectly capable of making your own choices. I just know that if I were you, I would be carried away with the fun of it too.

Why the big deal? Well the machine is about to be really well used, with your arrival nearly upon us, and it might reveal problems which have been building up. It would be a real pain in the arse for you if it either breaks down or requires maintenance. As horrid as the Hotpoint is, if it's under warranty (I don't know if it is) it might be worth at least storing it somewhere as a back up machine? A 10 minute launderette wash won't touch most baby stains!!

All I mean to say is, you're about to have enough on your plate and be careful of taking on yet another drain on your energy, resrouces, time, money, patience...

Take care

Nick,
You make a valid point, Though i'm of the correct persuation to rectify any issue. I have plenty more faith in 12 year old best buy than a indesitcompany tin can.

I have 2 back up machines if necessary, my quartz and my zanussi! When i lived back at my rents they were the only machines i used and there nearing 20years and 20years plus &... *touches wood* they've been no bother!

Seamus-Yes it's very exciting! He could be here ANY time! lol! We've even put off going down to aldershot at the end of the month for my cousin's babie girls christening as we'll be on red alert and my g.fs mother is coming in as another birth partner and she'd be devastated to miss it. that and if he were to be born downsouth we'd have nothing for him!

I'm anticipating and anxious as it unfolds lol! I'm dead excited!

Darren

Congrats on everything Darren!!

Hope the Bosch serves you well. I wouldnt mind a read of the manual but I cant get one off the Bosch site as you need the FULL model number and I need a rating plate off a machine for that! :-(

Pics and Vids are a must :-D

Bosch WFF-2000

Hi Darren,
That's great news indeed!
They were first released in 1995 if memory serves me correctly, 1000RPM Spin BBB rated for energy. My friend Professor Smith has one which is still running perfectly. They are reliable, reasonably quiet machines with good rinsing and short cycle times.

Happy washing.

David

My friend has that machine, His mum bought it in March 1998 which was the month and year that it was rated Which Magazines Best buy , and its a great machine, I love the 3D Aquaspa wash system with the Cascade :-), I loved watching the washer spray water down the glass. They always used Ariel Powder in big boxes, I remember it was rarely on as his mum always sets it on 8 hours time delay

Congrats on the machine Darren :)

YEY DARREN!!!

Great score!

Lovely machine. I had the chance to use one a few years back when we went down to Kent for a holiday. It was in the "Laundry room" in a house with holiday apartments in. Thought it was great. Our apartment was across the hall from the laundry room and you could hear the machine working away. Sounded great.

Goodbye to the Hotpoint!

Can't wait to see the pics and vids.

Congrats!!

Mark

Hey guys!
Thanks for the kind words and messages! I'm well excited to recieve it! There will be many pics and videos! Can't wait to see the cascade...one thing that is cool is the "guarenteed rinsing time" feature. This intregued me,..i read a little further..."regardless of the time it takes to fill the machine will rinse for the full amount of time once the water level has been reached:D That and higher water level will be most welcoming:D

2nd chance offer me thinks.

I noticed it was a first time buyer Darren that won your Hotpoint.

I wish the buyers would email the seller and explain the situation with payment etc before bidding then the seller (you) could decide whether to let them bid.

Ive just had a buyer ive had to wait a whole month before I was paid even though she had been paying other sellers in between times!

2nd chance offer to the 3 people with good feedback has just gone out and the winner is clutching at straws to find a solution. Thing is i can't be there for her courier i work 9-6 and i want this thing gone within two days.

I'm hoping one of the other people comes up good

yeah I hate it when people do that too cause they want you to wrap it up and then wait in all day for a couier to come etc I always refuse this if people say can I arrange my own courier. Its a heap of trouble Darren.

I've given 2nd chance offer to the previous bidders.

eBay

Hi Darren,
Wow that sold quick and a good price too.
I hope you get everything sorted, remember that the buyer agrees to the terms laid out in your listing so don't let anyone muck you about.

Good luck.

messing about

zodawash's profile picture
yeah I agree with David. If ever I buy on ebay and have a special request like I cant pick up for a week or sumthing I always ask before bidding if the seller agrees to do it. It's only polite and you cant assume that once you've bid and won the seller will agree to pander to your needs that you now spring on them. Just point out Darren that no one is home for a courier etc. They shud have asked first. Don't people make u mad sumtimes lol

eBay

Hi Darren,
I can understand the second chance offer guy being wary, however if you have good feedback and explain the situation with the auction winner he should understand.
If you have re listed the Hotpoint with "Buy it Now" I'm sure it will sell especially with the current financial climate. Don't forget to mention the remaining parts warranty which I understand is transferable to the new owner, but please check with Hotpoint on that before you change the listing.

Good luck.

David
