We are selling our house in Louisiana and moving to Tn. we will be leaving the frigidaire T/l in the house. I know about the fast stroke in the whirlys, kens and tags. Is the tag better they tout MCT maytag commerical technology, is the maytag a little beefier in the working parts than the kenmores and whirlpools or is it the same mechanism in all of them? thanks. gotta admit i like the glass window too.

No,Whirlpool made few, if any, changes on the Whirltag
Maytag After the main takeover and new look. They"ve only added the stainless steel tub, window lid,and centered the timer to give them a little originality but,all Maytag has realy done is to become the new Kitchenaid appliances for the middle to upper middle class income homes and boosted KitchenAid up a few notches for the more sophisticated, upper middle to upper high class homes.

I know we are talking about washers here but. . .

Some of Maytag dishwashers are still the Maytag design with Whirlpool sourced parts. I also noticed that the Kitchenaide still has the four arm lower spray, the rest seemed to be Whirl though.

What the lady at Lowe's told me was the Washer line ceased to exist on the day of aquisition, but some models of dishwasher will remain at least for now.
