Hoover 9kg washer/dryer!

Checkrate/Likes Hoover have released a 9kg washer/dryer! It will wash and dry 6kg in one go! They're claiming the fastest wash & dry cycle of 59minutes!! And a 14 minute quick wash. They're also promoting it's weight sensor! Looks like your standard Hoover vision but is a washer/dryer! Darren

Checkrate/Likes Hotpoint has ready to wear cycle, that does it i 1 hour- came out before hoover. And the hotpoint aqualtis washer/dryer has the refresh wash 15 mins, which was laos out b4 the hoover washer/dryer. Although hotpoint dont have it on washing machines, hoover does.

Checkrate/Likes *15 mins - can't manage how ...* a frontloader can run properly a wash and two rinses by 15 mins. Honestly we've to admit this is the US TL war horse 2 guesses - the washer uses high, sloshy levels as the likes of some coin-op machines, so that detergents can dissolve quickly. But this doesn't match with the A++++ requirements ;-) - the washer reaches the right fill just a while before of the wash drain , so clothes aren't washed neither rinsed. Probably this is why Bosch/Siemens say on their manuals to run the 15min cycle WITHOUT detergent.... aaghh !!

Checkrate/Likes Ive used the hoover 14 mins wash on the vhd862, my family friend bought. It washes foir about 5 mins which is good for refreshing, then 2 quick rinses with good water level but it goes to about 400 for 10 seconds then on 800 for 20 seconds then finished. Its alright if u utilise washing line for summer but u cant wring more water from them. On Bosch u can increase spin speed on superquick15 wash but time will hit near 18 mins or so.

Checkrate/Likes *even can't manage how 9 kg ...* ...can accomodate into a standard size machine. 60 litres drums hold 6kg, not 9. Or is this an hard mount washer with a 90 litre drum ? ;-)) Clothes have to tumble to get washed, otherwise they turn like a record on the turntable ( translation for younger people : in stone age there weren't CD , bluerays, MP3 and such things. Vinyl record and magnetic tape were their granpa & granny)

Checkrate/Likes oh thast not the drum volume, thats how much water it'll use for 60oc cottons wash. And the short washes that last 14 or 15 mins are for 1.5 or 2kgs. And 30 mins washes for 3 kgs approx etc.

Checkrate/Likes *sorry ... let' s say cubic decimetres instead of litres* Dyson,do agree with you: the fastest the cycle, the smallest the load. Often use the MINI in my miele :-) The point is: that Hoover is 60 cm deep, 60 cm wide, 85 cm high. 9 kg means 80% more than 5 kg, so the drum SHOULD be 80% bigger. I doubt it has a 80 dm3 drum (to be fair). But we know what happened ... Just compare Zanussi washers brochures in y 2002 and y 2007 "Capacit� di carico" means "Load capability" "Volume cesto" means "Drum volume" (litres = cubic decimetres) Here the y 2002 data :

Checkrate/Likes *now zanussi y 2007 data sheet* 46 cubic decimetres held 5 kg in 2002 .... 6kg five year later 54 dm3 held 5.5kg in y 2002, 7kg (seven) in y 2007 This trend is getting even more extreme today

Checkrate/Likes Dyson2drums! Yea hotpoint did all that first. I was just quotin the comet website. As for the 9kg in a standard cabinet...its quite clearly not. Though those drums are roomy! Shouldn't imagine they'll be too reliable as current candy made washer/dryers are pretty poor. 14mins for a quickwash is madness! I always thought the 30min quick wash a fast enough compromise! Darren

Checkrate/Likes Yeah, 14 mins doesn't wash well, maybe just for the worn once uick item/s, very small load, they're not 9kg as they say but bigger than 6kg- which i hope. lol I think manufacturers try to con to many people by misleading phrases. i.e hoover, hotpoint etc and more.
