Check out the text for this Hotpoint Duo-Tub washer. It appears to be a variation on GE's Mini-Basket. Has anyone actually seen one of these? I just happened to run across this ad and was intrigued by the washer! Take the link to the Ebay posting and there's a larger version of the text of the ad.

Yes, the "holy grail" of Hotpernts. I presume it was safer to use chlorine bleach in the big tub than in the little one when it cam time to throw out the wash water!

Hotpoint Duo Tub Washer

I remember Hotpoint advertising this washer too. There were separate fill flumes for the inner and outer tubs. The inner tub was like the mini=basket w/o drain holes. YOU could not wash with additives in the small tub that would spill into the larger tub during the spin cycle. To risky to ruin clothes in the larger tub. Too much trouble to remember that when doing the family wash. One has to wonder how relable was the setup as well. the was a control knob setting if you were using the large tub, the mini-tub or both tub to control water flow and metering water amounts
