Since I was a child I loved to watch the dishwasher in the movies on tv. I remenber an old moovie (about 1950) that shows a vintage dw timer on the rinse time between a scene and the other, and a waitress that load the dw learning spanish....anyone remember the title of the movie?
Another famous scene was in Dinasty where of Steven an Claudia kissed in the kitchen in front of a opened dw...do u remeber???
The last movie I remember (at the moment) was The Bird where Jessica Tandy load the dw after a dinner with Tippi Hedren..
Other famous dishwasher actress?

In Courtship of Eddie's Father(the movie version) the housekeeper is learning Spanish and loading the dishwasher.

Last Married Couple in America: Natalie Wood loading a KDS-18.

War of the Roses: Kathleen Turner loading a Jenn Air reverse rack and ending with a close up of the control panel.

Without a Trace: Kate Nelligan loading and starting a late 70s Westinghouse. My Aunt had a similar one that I've used many times.

The Ice Storm: Joan Allen loading a 60s Kitchen Aid.

Disturbia: Shia Labeouf doing a horrible job loading a Frigidaire.

I'm sure I'll remember more later.

I watched Good Fellows last night. The white portable dishwasher looked very Kenmore/Whirlpool. What was the coppertone built in in the background?

Freaky Friday: Barbara Harris emptying a 70s GE Potscrubber.
Immediate Family: Glenn Close briefly loads a reverse rack Maytag.
Big Chill: Mary Kay Place loads a Whirlpool.
Drop Dead Fred: Marsha Mason loads a Whirlpool.

I watch way too many movies!

I have always wonder what kind of dishwasher that was in "The Birds" with the really big sliders on the rack.

before the bought the house they lived in an apartment with a center island and the dishwasher seemed freestanding next to the osland sink....that magically loaded....with a wiggle of the nose...and the control turned on and there was a window in the front that you could see the water splashing...also it was a top loader...just never saw another one like it

Godfather of machines!

In the last Godfather epic, Al Pacino is in the kitchen and they have a KDS-14. It was in a few scenes!

They had an avocado KDS-16 in the Kitchen above the Funeral Parlor! They had another one in the earlier episodes but I forget what it was!

Fresh Prince!

Was that a Waste King in the corner of the kitchen in Fresh Prince? I love the sleek styling of the control panel on that machine. Can't see any buttons!

Regarding 6 Feet Under, I just watched all 5? seasons this year, and I believe starting in Season 2, the KDS-16 was replaced with an avacado D&M Caloric. I never saw the dishwasher used or even open. They were always hand washing dishes. But there were quite a few scenes shot in the kitchen with full view shots of the dishwasher. Only we would notice a change in dishwashers!

It was definately a Frigidaire. I could tell by that funnel on the top rack. I believe the laundry was a Kenmore set and his name was Kale.
