That's the Laundromat my mom had when I was a boy. (She got it after I almost had my arm ripped off by her Dexter wringer washer.) I actually think that model may be a 1956. The control knobs were gold and black with white lettering. What a beautiful set. I wonder if someone has been using them all this time.

That's a dream machine pair of mine!! Connecticut isn't THAT far... But I am already working on an L5 washer! Oh how cruel fate! NOTE: if anyone from the board does get these - please be sure that the washer is properly secured for transport! The front counterbalance plates have to be bolted to the cabinet and a bracket should be used to secure the tub in the back. Trust me on this one - mine got good and messed up in transit and you don't need that!! |

The price of $200 seems reasonable. Sometimes people want way too much for their appliances. I'll bet that dryer could be made operational with not much difficulty. Martin |

I e-mailed the seller last night - Someone beat me to it but thats o.k. I appreciate their quick response - I like the 1955 model set - like what Robert has with the westinghouse logo just above the door. |

If I remember right, those machines had "WESTINGHOUSE" in stylized block lettering in the black space on the door; "Laundromat" & "Clothes Dryer" aside the Westinghouse "W" logo on the faux backsplash. |

So are these models the low end models for that year? ...and then there was a Deluxe model that had different trim and lettering ? |
