I should have posted this prior to last weekend, but.... I did have in my possession, four different Maytag washer and dryer sets which spanned four decades!

First is this 1959 142 washer and 741C gas dryer in turquoise!

Next, my favorites, the 1962 A700 washer and DE701 electric dryer!

And now covering the 70's... the 1971 806 washer and 806 HOH electric dryer in Harvest Gold!

Finally, the last of it kind, the 1980 LA 806 washer and LDE 808 electric dryer in Almond.... which are now in the loving care of Christopher (washmeup) in Scottsdale, AZ.

A lovely family tree indeed!! Sooooo envious of the turquoise set.... Amazing that the matched sets have stayed together all this time.

Great Maytags

Kevin: Love the pics - the almond set is back to AZ - did it miss the heat? Congratulations!

Kevin, you have enough lighted consoles now in your collection that your garage could most likely be seen from space...

Love that turq set...

All beautiful but that white set looks especially nice - I love all the pastels but there is something just very dignified and impressive looking about a white set of lighted Maytags.

I SHOULD have said these were in my "collection"..

RCD... Yes I agree, with all of them lit up (don't forget the lighted WP and Lady K sets!) you probably CAN see my garage from space! LOL

Greg... I have to agree (but then I am biased as those are my favorites) white sets do have a certain elegance about them!
Your Maytag 160 pushbutton washer is absolutely stunning, BTW! (drool, drool)

Beautiful sets, one and all! My favorite Maytag era is late50s-early 60s.

Now, if we could just convince Robert Seger to invest in a nice '80s WCI Frigidaire washer, he could run a "Four Decades" photo, too! (Robert doesn't own a gun, does he, LOL?)

bpetersxx: I've got a coppertone 806 washer and an avocado 606 [I think - it's a center dial HoH] electric drier you can have if you wish. Come 'n get 'em!

There is a match out there to your turquoise Maytag, but it will take patience and persistence to find what you are looking for and will take checking Craigslist and Market Place multiple times a day to find what you are looking for. There were a few times where I was a little dismayed since the machines I was looking for didn’t pop up for sale or sold before I got them but I kept on persisting and finally I acquired a set a tried getting for over a year.

Up until yesterday, this thread hadn't been active for over 11 years.  You would be better off launching a new thread in the Shoppers Square forum, where your request will likely get a lot more views.  Click on "Create a New Thread" and scroll down to the "Appliance Related Wanted or Items for Sale" heading.

Dryers almost always last longer than washers, so that will work in your favor.  Good luck!

I don't even know if non-upgraded members can access Shoppers Square.  If not, then a new thread in Imperial would be the sub-optimal alternative.

A department store nearby was a Maytag dealer from the beginning. P.E. Ward had a complete series of Maytag wringers in his 3rd floor showroom from wooden tubs right up to the last with blue trim. He died, store closed and everything got liquidated.
