Similar to our webmaster Robert's Montgomery Ward DVD show, this model does not have the bleach dispenser drawer. I am guessing it is very close in year production, too. Here is the console:

A close-up of the timer:

Speeds are controlled by the cycle. Both have a cool-down period, which I assume is a spray rinse. (I haven't fired up this machine as of yet. It was given to me a couple years ago by our own gregm. Thanks again, Greg!)

Interior tub shot with the tell-tale burpalator agitator:

Unfortunately, the top of the agitator is cracked. The burp action is more like spit-up action.

Of course when you wash in a Norge

you must use Tide, Beads-o-Bleach and Sta-Puf to complete the experience!

Very nice! You'll find another agitator, they're still around. Doesn't look like any traces of oil - can you get the agitator out?

I had a client who had this same washer (and matching dryer aka. "the basement flocking machine") in harvest gold. What great sounds that machine made!

Greg:
No oil leaks. The agitator's frozen. I'd cut it off if I could get another. So far, no luck.

THE BEST

That is the best cleaning washer you will ever use,I had one, and it is still my favorite....but alas, my husband was not to fond of his clothes being worn thru...he never complains about anything,so the Norge went away, still...I think it is the best washer ever, even though a little rough.

I had one of those. It went to Mark in Virginia a few years ago. Nice washer!

Funny:
I don't find the Norge to be any more rough than a Filter-Flo or even a Maytag, provided it's not overloaded or run for 18 minutes of wash. It's a hell of a lot more gentle than these new Whirlpoop/Kenmore shredder things. Just my opinion.

Looks very similar to today's POD (9/28/09).

The POD is a bit older, Borg-Warner Norge. This one is a Fedders Norge.

Nice washer there Bobby, that panel looks straight out of the showroom!!!

Whats the dark circle/groove?? just out from the agi in the base of the tub?? is this a big clamping baseplate??

Post# 381899 , Reply# 14   9/28/2009 at 13:56 (5,323 days old) by bobbyderegis (Boston)

Greetings Mike!
I hope all is well with you. The groove is a weld in the tub. The outer perforated walls must have been wrapped around a central base, then welded. There is a bit of oxidation at the weld site.
Regards to Jack for me.

Bobby,

does this machine takes a full minuet to drain?

Larry:
I haven't fired it up yet. It should be exactly as Robert's Montgomery Ward DVD. I'd guess about a minute would be right.
