I am looking for a match to my white Maytag A207 washer. Doesn't have to be an exact match and actually, I would prefer a SOH dryer to a HOH.

Otherwise, I am interested in finding an A610/710/810 or A612/712 with matching dryer. Can be white or almond.

So, if you run across any of these options, please let me know.

Thanks,
Malcolm

You may want to add a 410 to the list as it's the exact same setup as a 712.

A Lead

mrb627's profile picture
I had a lead on a int A810 set and someone beat me to it by just minutes.

I suppose I would take any Maytag set as long as it was near mint or at least restorable to near mint.

I have looked over that 12 series. The problem will be getting it down 2 flights of stairs. Anyone care to help this weekend? :)

SOH

mrb627's profile picture
SOH = Stream of Heat

It pertains to the model that came after the HOH line in which the heat flowed from the back of the drum to the filter under the door opening.

Dryer is Gas

mrb627's profile picture
That would be an awesome set in Cumming, but the dryer is gas and I don't have a gas connection in my laundry room.

L,
I would be looking to pick this set up on Saturday. If that works for you, I will contact the seller.

Thanks,
Malcolm

Last Saturday

mrb627's profile picture
Well, last Saturday, I finally picked up a Maytag set. A112 washer in almond and an DE412 dryer in almond. I spent Saturday afternoon and a good part of Sunday cleaning and making them operational. Needless to say, they were filthy but showed great potential. Sunday afternoon, I moved the LG's to the garage and the Maytags to the laundry room.

So far, the washer has needed a motor drive pulley as the one it had had separated and was making quite a racket. Now, it purrs like a kitten the way a Maytag should.

The dryer, on the other hand, needs a bit more attention. I have ordered a replacement filter. The one it has has begun to break down. It also needs front drum glides as the drum is hard to turn by hand and will sometimes let out a skreetch until the dryer gets hot. I am also gonna replace the rear drum rollers while I'm in there.

The dryer had a spattering of red paint and some type of morter on the front of it. It looked like part of a crime scene. Luckily, both cleaned off rather easily and after going over the cabinets with a light rubbing compound, the luster of the finish has begun to shine through.

I'll post current pictures later on. Here are a couple of shots during the restoration/cleanup.

I especially like the temperature control of regular/delicate on this model dryer.

Final pics will come later.
