The water level was set at medium because the small water level splashes a little too much and I didn't want my camera getting wet. Also, I didn't want to produce a layer of suds which would make the turnover impossible to see, not that it isn't already difficult. At least the one towel still had his white tag still attached, which you can see float by every once in a while. LOL! I could have thrown a couple more towels in but didn't think it would matter all that much. Plus, I was in a hurry because I was scheduled for delivery of the Speed Queen set that morning. I wanted to capture a cycle on film before the maytag was disconnected. Now, she rests quietly in the garage. |

Enjoyed the videos. Can you give us a shot of the control panel? it would help determine the age of the machine. Sorry you missed the wash-in a few weeks ago. I hope we can do one together soon. Happy New year! Les |

You did a great job on the videos. Maytags back then were sure built better than the Maytags of today. |

Wow you did a really great job! I've yet to make a video of my LA308 and I need to do it soon. These tags are fantastic machines. I really feel like the lint filter in these are as good if not better than the filter flos when it comes to trapping pet hair. I've washed sheets in mine and the filter came out completely surrounded with dog hair. Excellent machines! So now I have a question regarding the timers on these. This model is older than mine. Mine is an almond color. I was told that puts it around 1979-1980 when that color became available but the machines were still center-dials. On mine the timer motor is very apparent. You can hear it cranking and it's a rather unique sound. I notice on yours it sounds like solenoids doing the work. I'd be interested to know the differences in these styles of timers. Anyone? Jon |

Mine is an older model and it uses an older style timer that advances the timer increments with a very positive stroke. I like it, but my dog takes offense to it. He barked at it at first, then would go hide in another room while it was running. A part of the reason I went back to a front loader was the fact that it runs quieter and he pays no attention to it.
