I remember GE washers in the 1970s when the brake inside the transmission would give out it would break a one" hole in the side of the thin aluminum housing and spill two quarts of oil all at once. When you were standing in front of the machine trying to lift out the old transmission your feet would be sliding out from under you. GE has never been a stranger to oil leaks it either leaked on your clothes or on the floor or both if you were really unlucky. This is the reason we never liked to sell rebuilt GE washers people were never happy when they started ruining clothing, I wonder how much GE paid out for damaged clothing over the years.

I guess it's time to haul it to the curb! You know, GE's new top load washers don't even HAVE a transmission! And they use half the water!!! OMG!!! It'll also clean much better and hold a lot more than you old GE...

I'm sure quite a few ladies of a certain age leak a little, products for that kind of problem are even advertised on TV nowadays... Seriously though, hope she can be fixed, not nice to walk in and find that! |
