I've made the call. I'm so excited. This is as close as I have seen to what I grew up with. If I can get this then I'm going to have a thing or two for sale to fellow members here...

Good for you Joe, and i hope you get it. Its kind of the holy grail for this week, we just discussed big door GE dryers. We rightfully so, never stop discussing frigidaire washers, and it's an avocado set, Hope you get em its a win/win. alr2903

Wow, those both look to be in excellent condition, kept in a nice laundry room. Hope you get them, Joe.

Well

The deal is sealed. They're mine, unless some untimely event prevents it. I'm so excited! They were in danger of the first person to happen along, or the garbage if they were not gone in time.

When are you getting them Joe? Do you need anyone to ride with you to Anderson? I would be happy to help if you need an able body or another dolly-cart, etc.

Thank you so much for your kind offer. I don't have a truck. Bob Orear is so kind to haul things for me so he is getting them for me and will keep them until Spring when I'm ready to move some things around again.

I had this model in my Appliance class in high school and one of my classmates sprayed Liquid Wrench on the rollers to quiet it down ( there was a pin going around in the pump)from a scraping noise it was making.Took me days to get it all cleaned out and running again. All I had to replace was the gasket after removing the pin.I sold it to one of my teachers for $75!!!

Bob has them home safely. I have a lot of different things going on right now but this summer I'll get them installed and do yet another of my Frigidaire threads. I might even keep that Big GE dryer too! I'd love to know more about them...

Here's a little Preview

Bob took this picture for me after he got it back to his house. Interestingly enough it's got the single speed spin with 2 speed wash and is not a Rapidry. This is nearly identical to the one my Mother had.

I also owe you a great thanks for finding this and making the information available. I really feel so grateful -- I remember that a year ago I was so much in want of a solid tub, deep action Frigidaire and now I have 3 all of which are "holy grail" machines to me for one reason or the other. Who know's maybe I'll host a little get together someday.
