Wouldn't a plastic tub warp at such a high speed? |

Wouldn't it be nice if Frigidaire brought back the RapiDry 1000??? I think it was actually 1140rpm....took a load of towels only 25 minutes to dry. |

The Frigidaire Unimatic washers (1949-1959) spun at 1140 rpms. The high-end Rapidry 1000 Rollermatic models of the 1960s spun at 1000 rpms. I have heard that the platic tubs cannot stand up to very high spin speeds. And these new Frigidaire do have Titan (palstic) tubs. I think that GE has a 1000 rpm, or close to it, top-load Energy Star agitator model with a stainless tub. So the new Frigidaires are third for fast spin. I bet with governmental energy standards we will be seeing many top loaders raising spin speeds. Yay!

I was just surfing around...I'm not sure exactly where I saw it. I just searched "Frigidaire" and this stacked model came up with a 820 spin speed. This is not where I originally saw the info however, but it was on a description of the machine.

Here is another link mentioning faster spin on TL Frigidaires...although it contradicts itself and says 820 rpms in one place and 1200 rpms in another. I'm sure those plastic tubs can't do 1200. No way.
