After years of being a "big girl" and having my own dryer, it just occurred to me that it would probably run more efficiently without a pile of clean clothes and other stuff stacked on top of it?
So I excavated the thing today. Of course, I cannot tell if it made a difference, but I bet you guys have some comments for me... |

probably doesn't make a huge difference. would not be too different to it being under bench. as long as the vents are clear/clean. |

Sarah, you got that right... Actually, after reading this thread, maybe I now know of another reason why my wife insists on having a top-loading washer... can't pile stuff on top of it! |

Dryers efficiency is usually determined by the amount of heated air running through the drum. Having no obstructions anywhere around the dryer to obstruct airflow will make your dryer more efficient. |
