The last time I looked, Viking dishwashers were made by Asko. Sometimes I think people who place these ads are just confused or uninformed about their appliance, but this seems to be a purposeful deception on the part of the seller.

Yeah but this Viking is different from the US Viking. That Viking brand if from Eatons in Canada. I loved that store at the Eaton Centre in Toronto...fantastic! I know they went out of business or Sears Canada bought them and tried to revive them.

So your saying Viking in Canada is a re-badged Whirlpool?

Mike--- I'd forgotten that Eaton's Viking brand has nothing to do with the US Viking brand of commercial range fame. Now that you mentioned it, I recall seeing Canadian Viking appliances in the picture-of-the-day.

Whoops! My bad.

Which is why, in Canada

the pro-look appliances are badged as Ultraline.

Every American (USA) Viking print ad I have ever seen says "Sold as Ultraline in Canada."

Calling them Ultraline was meant to avoid this confusion.

The Ultraline/Viking dishwasher is (last I knew for sure) a rebadged Asko.

Canadian Franklin Viking

In Canada, Eaton's Viking products were made by Franklin in the 60's, then by GE in the 70's.
