I have an old British Design Book from 1968 that describes a tumble dryer and Automatic Washing Machine by the name called the Liberator does anyone have details of when they were first made and discontinued. I beleive English Electric was absorbed by the the GEC who inturn sold Hotpoint to Indesit and became another firm. Any Pictures I would like to see of this machine many thanks

English Electric

Hi Keith.

I posted some old Which Magazine articles, one is Various Vintage Which Magazines, they have some photos of the English Electric Machines.

Further Liberator Drawings

I have managed to obtain a brief diagram of the English Electric Liberator 4023 Washing Machine and the Liberator 4603 Tumble Dryer, has anyone got a photo of this dryer and am I right to think that Hotpoint took of the washing machine of English Electric which was part of GEC who in turn sold it to Indesit.
