Dear All,
Lowes has surprised me to replace our 3 year old Bosch Nexxt 500 set and is sending us a gift card for purchase price plus tax. Although I liked our Bosch W/D the washer has left a bad taste in my mouth and I've been battling it for 4 months...so I'm unsure of the Bosch Vision track record.

Here is what I can get at Lowes:

1. Whirlpool
2. Maytag
3. Bosch
4. Electrolux
5. Samsung
6. Fischer/Paykel

I'd like to replace it with another FL because of the sanitary options. I like the Electrolux but what are your thoughts?

Matt

Do you get to keep the old ones?

I've been spooked by Electrolux (my Affinity) but loved my Duet.

I vote Whirlpool or Maytag.

I second Whirlpool. I love my Whirlpool sourced, Kenmore HE3t FL Washer.

We are VERY satisfied with our Samsung 4.5 cu. ft. FL washer, but the matching dryer is just average.

If you have to buy it at LOWES, get a WHIRLPOOL.

really all the front loaders have the same problems, spiders going bad, bearings, computer boards etc, frigidaire is a very good unit for the money from what i have heard, it is more reliable than whirlpool considering you don't use chlorine bleach which is corrosive. i am not sure how the new duet will be, my aunt has the previous duet and she loves them, hers are 5 years old.

I have had the Kenmore, Frigidaire, the L.G., the KitchenAid Ensemble, the Whirlpool Duet, the Whirlpool Sport, the Miele, the White Westinghouse and the Neptune. The Frigidaires had the least problems even though one made by them for Sears had a faulty tub baring and would have cost $700+ to get repaired, that was the only one that I had major issues with. The Affinity had been abused by a renter here who had a pocket full of cigarette buts that got the pump to burn out.The Whirlpool, the KitchenAid and the Neptune were always in need of some repair. The main issue being the fact that they have no "button catcher" that is accessible by the owner without removing the bottom kick plate. The Electrolux line doesn't have one and their pumps rarely get clogged.I now own 3 of the Affinities and they work great. real quiet, huge capacity and the new models are even bigger and a bit quieter.I recommend the Frigidaire Affinity.

Bosch - the new Vision series are true horizontal axis machines and operate in a guaranteed wash temperature heater mode.
