Hi all - did anyone go for the F&P aquasmart that ended on ebay today? I had hoped to get it, but the seller had restricted bids to UK only (grrr), so my bids wouldn't register. Would have been a fun (and rare over here) machine to have!

It's a toploader without an agitator, a High Efficiency model. It doesn't get very highly rated. For some interesting reading follow the link.

I had read very positive reviews elsewhere - like every machine, it will have both!

I suspect it is a 'love it or hate it' machine with its low profile, low water system (the genesis of the Maytag Bravos/Whirlpool cabrio line) - I'd love to have had it to see exactly what it can do. Maybe a 'UK mainland' member got it and we'll see how it stacks up. I know some US members have equivalent machines too...

Here's hoping someone else ships another one (ideally the TOL LCD version!) over and puts it on ebay when they discover that UK houses don't usually have laundry rooms!!

D :-)

Interestingly

...in the last Choice test...they scored 81% for soil removal and 74% for rinse effectiveness (cold water)...that was better than any Miele tested...

....until you look at gentleness......

...but water efficiency was up there too...81 v 84

Hurrah - there is hope for those of us with a V-axis top-load preference! Come on F&P IRL - stick a heater in them and bring them to Ireland...
