Hey Guys,
Just thought I would share with you a recent acquisition, a very rare Hotpoint brochure from 1965, I would class it as rare as most of us know the 1420 supermatic was only made for 12-18months. The only reason I have taken a picture of it as it is too big to scan, it shows the new line up in great detail. 1500/1420 Countess/Empress/Spinner. I remember getting a single page (a4) photocopy of this brochure about 20 years ago from Hotpoint and just assumed it was single sheet info, never thought it was a brochure. It is great how it opens up as well. Any further questions let me know. Keith |

Forgot to ask..Was the 1420 the first model with the Spiralator agitator? In the brochure the agitator appears to black. Was it black before they changed to the White one? Mark |

Hi Mark,
The 1420 had a four-vane black agi, as used in the countess & princess..the brochure shows both agitators as the top loading auto used the new Spiralator and the New Supermatic used the traditional method. After this Supermatic, can the 1450 which was the first machine to introduce the Spiralator / white agi. Keith |

Mark you are right, have just zoomed in on the leaflet and on the RHS its showing a BLCK Spiralator with a Turquoise Filter Tray..its seems to be dissing Hoover and Servis Agitation in favour of "Tangle Free"
Keith can you not fold the the sections to A4 size and scan please, you have some great literature but you dont half tease us with stuff we can see!! LOl
Hope you are good after the leg op, sorry we didnt get to catch up again at Al's earlier this month!!
Cheers, Mike
