Hello everyone, I am brand new here, but I am looking for something very old.

As a young child my grandmother had an Easy automatic washer, on the control
panel it had a series of white buttons for temp wash and spin speeds.

it also had the logo quadra speed on the control panel somewhere under the
easy logo

The unit had a stainless steel tub, the spiralator agitator, and probably
a DD tranny.

What was unusual about this machine is it had 2 drain hoses 1 for the wash
and 1 for the rinse.. also it had a white floresent light over the control
panel the you can turn on and off the switch was located behind the back of
the light..

if anyone has one of these restored, or even a picture of a non working one
I would be grateful to anyone that would share these with me.

Sorry this is so long, but I really wanted to describe the washer to the T

Jessee, I do believe this very machine is sometimes the Picture of the Day. It may be a brochure page that has several models on it, but I do remember the quadra speed insignia.

Usually machines that had 2 drain hoses were Suds Saver models...I highly suspect that the washer your grandma had might be a Suds Saver. If each hose went into its own seperate tub or if one went into a tub and the other into a stand pipe or another drain then I highly suspect that machine was a Suds Saver......I am I correct in my suspicions guys? 2 hoses

Hi Pat

Your suspicions are correct: most machines in Australia that had two outlet hoses were Suds Saver models with the 'automatic' suds saver with the divertor valve.

The divertor valve saves the wash water into one tub and flushes any rinse water down the drain or into another tub through the 2nd hose.

Very common on a lot of automatic machines sold in Oz up till the 1980's. Most of my collection have the Suds Save facility.

Cheers

Leon

I have the brochure photo I referred to above, a thoughtful member knew which POD and sent it to me. I'll post soon.
