I remember this appearing here a year ago because the seller was looking for info.

Manchester. Looks operable but in need of cleaning up.

You beat me to it to making an eBay thread! And that 9335 lol.

The above machine is an Electra, not Servis, as it was made from a Creda.

Servis W/D...

Did Servis create their own design for the drying system or did they borrow it from Hotpoint since they already used other components from thems eg. the motor.

James.

@supermaticjames

I don't think Hotpoint collaborated with Servis over their washer dryers. Servis had fully developed their range at that time and Hotpoint was just entering with their initial 9900 model. Servis did use Merloni Indesit models in their range, and they themselves made an Electra 9900E model (not the same as Hotpoint's 9900) Electra machines were made from both Hotpoint and Servis, but we never saw a Hotpoint branded Servis or vice versa.

Supermaticjames,

Having not seen the insides of a Servis washer dryer to any extent of comparison I cannot remember what the blower and heater arrangement are like but it is a possibility Servis could of sourced the blower assembly from Hotpoint or whomever made them as an actual component. Servis machines did actually have infact Hotpoint motors fitted made by GEC although the info label said Servis.

For the record Servis washer dryers didnt start to appear until the new 1986 range and were actually sourced from Antonio Merloni whom had nothing to do with Indesit. They were the Companion models, similar to the Servis Rainwaves of later years ironically.

Hotpoint had their 9900 washer dryer on the market in 1985 12 months at least before Servis had the Companions so possibly had the production plans and designs years ahead of the "true" "full panel door" Servis built Washer-Dryers that came about around 1988 to 1991

sorry I got my facts mixed up...

I initally thought that Servis made washer dryers before Hotpoint as I looked at this brochure, it was on this thread but I can't find it now. There were several pages, and one of them featured an Indesit washer dryer, can't remember if this was a servis branded one or not, I made my assumption on that. Seeing as the Hotpoint 9900 wasn't in it, I thought it hadn't been made at that point, I thought it was made more later 1985 and ended by early 1986 with the introduction of the "Next Generation" models.

One thing I wanted to know, is it true that the first washer dryers (Colston, Bendix) were simply heater operated, but by the mid 80's fan heated drying was used? (Candy and Zanussi had adverts talking about their washer dryers being more efficient in their drying cycles?)

I used to have an Asko 10504, awesome machine!! Lasted solidly for about 8-9 years but in the end the thermostat went and the timer started to play up. At that time no one anywhere near to close by could or would fix them so it was a case of ordering the parts direct from Sweden, getting them shipped to Bristol, then posted from Bristol to our home and then we'd have to fit them ourselves. It worked out more cost effective to buy a whole new machine.

It was a fun machine to have though!

With regard to Aquarius 8000's Logic Dryer...

I actually own one of these dryers, it's actually a Hoover EcoLogic, not a Logic and the model for this EcoLogic dryer is D6722.

As for UltimaFan's link to the Hoover EcoLogic Washer Dryer, I saw this machine, I would've bid for it but have reached my current limit on machines in my parents garage.

If anyone's interested in the model, & would like to see uploaded pics of 3 brochures with Logics/EcoLogics, Computer Logics & ComputerControls, I'll be returning home at the end of the week, when I'll be able to quote the model of the EcoLogic & post the brochures on a new thread.

I've attached a pic of my EcoLogic D6722

If any Logic/EcoLogic fans would like to see the brochures uploaded onto AW, email me, you can either find my email under my profile name, or email me directly at...
