I just picked this vintage G.E. Microwave up today for only $10. It turns on but not sure yet if it heats up or not. It has a date stamped on the back of January 1981.

Here is the tag on it. You can kind of read the date but thats about it. I'll try and get a better pic later.

I like the flip-style clock/"time control". I can't remember ever seeing another microwave with a similar way to set the time.

In High School a friend's folks had this GE. Can't believe I'm seeing it again!

It looks kind of similar to the early stove hood GE's.

I think these models were known as the JET models, as in JET-101, etc.

My Moms house that she had built in florida in 1975 had a microwave similar to that.now the home is no longer hers and she lives in LA-and that house built in the 80's--has a GE microwave similar to that one shown.

GE COUNTER TOP MW OVEN

I have a customer on Capitol Hill in DC that has that exact model built in under the counter in her kitchen. These were the first GE US built models and they did use a similar control setup on the OTR and built-in wall oven MW oven combinations. These were well built and very reliable, it a good piece of American appliance history thats worth collecting.

Inside view. Everything looks to be all American except for the (original) Panasonic Magnatron with GE part numbers..
