Fascinating Leon! When I was 9 years old I saw one of these machines on the curbside waiting to be hauled away. It too had a light green fiberglass solid tub and an agitator similar to the Speed Queen traditional 3 vane. I can't remember what brand name was on it, however it was not Astor, but something like Leonard. This is the only time I ever saw one. Of course I wanted to take it home but there was no way that would happen. |

Well, like the both of you, i saw my dream machine in a store in Sydney at about 9 yrs old too.....and it was a Simpson Fluid Drive with the plastic ribbed liner.....and also on a TV program in the 90's as a prop.
Now......i have a total of 8 Simpson Fluid Drives.....and it's only taken 32 years to get them!!!! LOL
Cheers Leon |
