Members! I need your help.

My 95 year old mother called this AM and said her washer is humming and moves very slowly and does not spin.

I am not as knowledgable on washers as of my favorites ..... dishwashers.

Any advice and or if I can  fix this?

Thanks!

David

check the drive coupler

The most common problem with Whirlpool/Kenmore DD machines that agitate slow and don't spin is the drive coupler. It is easy to determine if this is the problem. If the machine fills and drains as it should but does not agitate or spin proprerly and makes funny noises this is most likely the problem.

or it might simply be a failing washer motor happen to me in 96 with my inglis whirlpool superb 2 washer they change the washer motor and everything was fix or it might simply be related to a defective washer timer on my inglis whirlpool superb 2 i had to have the timer replace because it was doing this on the spin portion of the normal cycle just before the rinse the best way to test this is to have a load wash using another cycle to see if it related to the timer?

Thanks for the comments!

I will see the washer on Sunday...I searched YouTube, reviewed a vidio regarding replacement....doesn't seem too difficult.

Will keep you posted!

Thanks again!
