So today I have done two loads in the hotpoint at my dads, the first loads contained a bathroom curtain, 2 synthetic tops, a skirt a pair or children's trousers and two bras (yes I no shouldn't) and I put in on a fast wash with 800 spin and it reached 800 on the final spin but the load was still quite wet at the end , now the second load is still on and it is time saver 60* and It says it will take one hour and 1:30 later still going,

Could someone plse tell me what is going on with this machine many thanks

Trey

No offence to anyone, but I am defending Chris.

Not picking on, you have had it explained though several times.

Not explaining again, go look at the other threads if you need reminding,

Folks...

ronhic's profile picture

I agree with Rob here......

Robert, our webmaster and creator of the site, has spent a huge amount of time and his money to provide a means for all of us to communicate about a shared interest - predominately washing machines, dryers and dishwashers with some additional variation in the Super area for products, stoves etc.

Every single post we make adds to the total cost of running this website which Robert ultimately pays the bill for. Please bare that in mind as, ultimately, we are Roberts guests.

Whilst I don't assume that I speak for anyone else other than myself, if you want to have a one-to-one conversation, send an email or chat on Skype - the forums are here to enable open group discussion where everyone can benefit from others life experiences with certain products and memorys as well as to share technical knowledge which others may find useful be that about reliability, how to fix something or even the vaguaries of different colours that a particular model came in or cost.

Consider it a loungeroom where everyone can participate in the conversation if you will.

I'd suggest that they're not here for individuals to start a conversation and then, as seems to be the case of late, send several non-constuctive messages such as 'replace it' or 'buy another' or to tell each other that 'I've sent you an email'.

That's not in the spirit of how forums work.

Chris

I think you wasted your breath there. This thread will now drop off so aquarius8000 can claim he didnt see it and reoffend - notice response to toher threads but not thins one?

Only thing I can hope is that aw.org has an age restriction imposed like Discuss O Vac has to join.

This is getting ridiculous. It's got nothing to do with your age/our age and everything to do with courtesy. Clogging up the boards with posts like "I've just e-mailed you" is ridiculous. Why not just check your e-mails before you check the forum?

Back to the topic at hand, I'd get a repair man to check it out first. It could be a very easy repair and I'm sure you'd much rather fix it than have it clogging up some landfill somewhere

It has recently been brought to my attention that certain members have been using some of the threads as their own personal instant message system.

Posts like:

Plse read the other one !!!!!
and
see email,

etc, etc, etc are completely unacceptable here and I will absolutely not stand for it anymore.

If I catch any of the usual suspects doing this again (please everyone alert me if you see this crap going on again asap) I will immediately ban you from posting here again. And don't come back to me with the excuse that "I didn't see this". Too bad, it seems you manage to see everything else. You will be banned, period. DON'T EVER DO IT AGAIN.

Thank you guys for emailing me about this, I normally do not read the Deluxe Forum as it holds very little interest for me as my interest in washers generally stops in the mid-60s.

Jacob, I could be wrong, but I don't think highlighting a message posted 4.5 years ago is really helpful here. Yes, sometimes Rob can be a bit abrupt in his messages, but he hasn't posted things like that any time recently as far as I've seen.

It's just a matter of courtesy to other forum members and the webmaster as well, not to use the site as a kind of instant messenger.

While I have not commented on this post before I have observed it from a distance and have not liked what I have seen at all.

Taking time to trawl through archives from years back to find dirt on a member who at that time was relatively new to the site himself is really highlighting the kind of 'childish' behavior that we are trying to help shape to better contribute to this site.

Whilst Rob may be abrupt and blunt he is also very realistic, this to some may come across as hurtful but its a very quick way to pointing out unacceptable behaviors and starting the process of assistance and advice. The most mature way to deal with this is look at the comments from other users supporting Robs post, work out what was annoying them and make some kind of attempt to rectify it.

Rob was not being unreasonable at all. Neither was our Webmaster when he had to step in and say so, the matter was buried at that point. Digging it up with this very inappropriate dig is just like spitting in our Webmasters face. Total disrespect.

Personally if this is the kind of behavior you are going to continue to show in future posts kindly click off this site now and never return, you are not wanted here. Or you could make one last ditch attempt at 'growing up' and realizing that this is not a childish competition for 'whose been the naughtiest member', its just real life, learning this now will help you in future years.

Please attempt to learn from this, noone likes asking people to leave.

Regards

Matt

How when you read the prior posts and read the full story when related with my post at that time its irrelevant to HotpointFans point that hes trying to make.

In fact he has no point whatsoever.

I had been away for a few days and came back to a situation where on my break at work (I was working night shifts at the time) I read that the Machine NICKUK was selling to me, had to go - other members were waiting in the queue for it and I didnt want Nick to think I was holding out on him.

Rather than write an email on my phone (didnt have NICKUK's number to text or ring directly) I used the WAP thing on it to post on aw.org in hope that he would see it before id gotten home later that morning and hold out offering it to another member while I could make arrangements.

You will also notice HotpointFan that "im sending you mail as what i have to say further is private" is rather different to "ive sent you email check now!!! blah blah blah" and "ive read your email ive sent you one back" that seems to get said between you immature members treating it like a chat room.

One main difference when we say it is that emails can bounce or delay in delivery and where times and deadlines are concerned the odd post here saying you have mailed someone can save heartache when it concerns IMPORTANT things like arranging to meet someone or arranging to buy a machine, posting as you do to discuss whatever you do is unacceptable.

Im not justifying myself any further, I didnt have to anyway but there ya go.

Yes im abrupt but at least im realistic as been said,

Like me or lump me,

p.s. ta to the real friends I have for the kind words. love ya's! xxxx

Jacob, that was a completely and utterly ridiculous thing to say. For starters, you have posted something without bothering to note what context it was originally written in. From what Rob has said, it was important and that is perfectly acceptable.

Secondly, even if Rob HAD posted that pointlessly (like you and certain other members seems to post), that still doesn't give you the right to do the same. Rob, myself or any other member would receive the same message from the moderators had we continued to post irrelevant rubbish and messages like "I've e-mailed you". There are people who have murdered innocent people in the world, but that doesn't mean it's right for you to do and do that, does it?

You need to accept the fact that what you were doing us unacceptable and move on. If you can't do that, then buzz off!

Well Chris...

... whilst you just said things like "From what Rob has said" and "Rob HAD" is just telling me things I already know! Rob has very kindly explained to me the situation with this post that is all I need to know thank you very much!

And for things like this "There are people who have murdered innocent people" this is just irrelevant. Call me stupid but this is just sad about people dying!

Thank You!

Jacob

" Rob has very kindly explained to me the situation with this post that is all I need to know thank you very much!"

Rob should not have HAD to explain himself or his posts to you! You've completely missed the point of my post - bottom line is you posted something trying to throw it in Robs face and I was supporting my friend!

You have completely missed the point of my post and just demonstrated that you're willing to try and pull any strings to throw at people. Frankly, I don't want to associate with people like that! Just get over it and move on!

I think that you've missed one very important point from the bollocking that you have just received from the above posts - the context of Robs comments in the single post YOU cut and pasted from a thread.

Are you telling the forum that you saw this as an example of behaviour that UNIMATIC 1140 (that's Robert, the website owner) is trying to put a stop to and that he has felt he needed to do something about?

OR

Are you saying that you not only read the post by Rob, but decided to completely ignore the context in which he posted i.e. he was in a queue to purchase a machine that the vendor was originally able to hold onto and was now not able to - his time was up and the vendor needed to know?

Given your user name and fondness for Hotpoint products, I very much doubt that you didn't read the whole thread. I certainly went searching for it as a direct result of your comment and read the lot.

I'd like to think you're more intelligent than this devisive style comment that you've made would appear to indicate.....

do you know what i have been a member on this site for a few months now and i want to leave i think because all i see is people arguing about emails, i think the age limit should be put up because i know the younger one might have the same intrests as us but there is to much of people arguing some of the younger ones are ok and if the webmaster decides to up the age limit up you are going to ruin it for others

Jacob...

I think what is annoying people here is your attitude. Not only did you dig something up from the past, but you are now trying to lecture people and demand that they stop talking about it.

It didn't need to be discussed, and is only being discussed because of YOUR action in posting it. If you get comments back about it, then you have to remember that you brought it on yourself.

Personally, I'd like to see you move on from it, but if you keep acting in that way then you will find people don't wish to discuss anything with you at all.

And by the way...

In case you didn't know, posting in all caps is considered to be shouting, and impolite. It doesn't really send a good impression.

I might be off topic here but you need, to know that if you look at other forums they have rules. And typing in all caps is considered rude for one thing, and this can if this was another forum could earn you a warning or a perma ban from the site. Depending on the gravity of the case, so maybe you should take the time to read the forum rules.
