So here we are, saturday morning Paul and myself do the usual round of charity shop searches in Crewe hoping to find something but not hoping to find anything when Paul spots this beaut!
Paul will explain where it lies in the line up but Id thought we'd struck gold fiinding the 800rpm version of the A3060. Darn Hoover model numbers - no such luck, but it is special in its own way. As far as I know this is the only one in the hands of a collector here, One was on ebay 3 years ago but sold to Revooh hooever that is! lololol Anyway like most Vintage Hoover machines it was a MINGER................. |

Nice find there, this is the model that next door but one neighbour Mary had (previous was grey Hoover Twosome) , this washer was taken away in the back of the van to be repaired, I thought at the time that was cheap and awfully bad service as the Servis Repairman always repaired ours in the home...Lol....its only when you come to work on machines in a tight cramped space with limited tools that you understand it would have been far better being repaired in a fully fitted workshop etc...
Now get it water tested and sheen shined AND please break it in gently, please use the Vintage Test Cycle which is Programme E for ELONGIVITY........AND NOT B for BOIL.... |

A Hoover drum showing little or no drum twist! Just a shame the the nicely non-twisted drum has two small holes at the bottom! Gary - a master class in liquid metal please! Mathew - a master class in fibreglass layers please! |

Oh well my eyes aren't that bad after all. I'm sure you guys are really proud of what you have done to get this Hoover in tip top condition. you truly make this site worth visiting. I have been fortunate to use an Electronic deluxe 800 spin but not the same model as yours but a earlier model. I could go on all night about what i liked about it. I guess you know what i mean. Ahh i'm so jealous.

Paul it looks beautiful, such a great looking range of machines, and how well you have cleaned it up......the internals remind so much of the AS1 summer special, but anyway well done in all respects.
Now to the Chemical Metal. If the holes are small 5 pence peice size dont worry about fibre glass etc. First wire brush any loose rust away, then apply Kurust this is very fast acting takes about 15 minutes to go off (the rust will turn black) Once you have done this mix the chemical metal as per instructions and apply it, again this goes off in about 5 minutes, once set you can then paint it with either enamel paint or hammerite, these do take a while to go off best left over night. If it is only surface rust like on the flange of the tub i just wire brush it, use kurust and then paint it And thats it Paul, i have used this combination of intoxicating chemicals for some years with absolute success, BUT do it in a well ventilated room or outside Good luck Gary |

Its bad enough when they wee on the floor but when they start telling you to eff off and doing rude things with a crucifix you know you have real problems :-) If the timer is like the one in my AS1 and A3060 it will have a brilliant sound, lots of clicking and sort of groaning sounds I love these old machines |
