I've got a Kitchenaid KDI-20 and the blower motor is going bad. It actually started humming and would not start up upon entering DRY cycle. Took it out, looked at shaft (some wear, not excessive), oiled up bearings on each side of motor and replaced. It spins now upon entering DRY cycle but it's still intermittently noisy and I'm convinced it's the 2 bearings that are bad.

This machine sat idle in my kitchen for nearly 18 years serving as a storage for tupperware and such. I started it up a week ago, the first time after these years and my wife (married only 5 years) absolutely loves it and how well it cleans dishes. No leaks and no problems except for the blower motor.

I am in need of a replacement, yet upon searching web for parts for this model, I am unsuccessful. Seems no parts lists are found for this model (kdi-20).

Now I've located this blower motor, part no. 4162742 (substituted for D-82104), which fits KDI-21 among many other models but does not list it as a direct replacement for KDI-20. This motor looks the same from what I can see but I'm not sure.

Can anyone confirm that this blower motor 4162742, is a replacement for my model? If not, could someone please provide the correct p.n. for my model?

Thanks in advance,
t-craw

How many you wnat?

Got a bunch of them and even have the very heavy duty Hobart replacements for it. Hobart used these dryer assemblies in their warming cabinets(look just like Traulsen boxes) but the dryer assembly was located in the hot air stream which killed the Kitchenaid motors pretty quickly. They came out with a better motor which also had a cooling fan on it to cool the motor windings. I will look up the numbers and let you know if you are interested.
The next two pics show the differences

OEM vs. Hobart Heavy Duty

Here is the heavy Duty motor.
Looks very much the same and the cooling fan slips over the end of that shaft on the right side.
It would not really be needed in this application but you can add it if you want.

Am interested

I am interested in one of these. I assume the bottom pic is the H.D. motor. It looks quite different than mine but if it fits, I'm interested. Are these new old stock or used? Price?

The p/n I mentioned earlier (4162742) is the motor below, which appears to be identical to mine. Is this the same motor as mine?

Regards,
t-craw

p.s. Would you like my email addy?

Can anyone confirm that this blower motor 4162742, is a repl

Seriously? No one can answer this question?

All I needed was a confirmation of p/n or the correct p/n. Seems the only reply I received was from someone wanting to sell me his motor(s) but couldn't get a yes or no if the p/n is correct. Yet, when I respond and say I'm interested in buying his motor, even emailed the fella, I get no response back.

Well, I can confirm that p.n. 4162742 is the correct one for my model. Why? Because I ordered a brand new one from Sears Parts and installed it today. So, for all the professionals out there who do not know if parts are available for the KDI-20...
