I have something in my mind to create a list of washing machine, dryer and dishwasher manufacturers from all over the world. It should be distinguished between a brand name and the company that is behind it... For Germany (what's on the market) I'd like to throw in:

Míele

AEG Electrolux

Bauknecht Whirlpool

BEKO

Blomberg

smeg

Zanker

Baumatic

Haier

Hotpoint Ariston

Thomson Brandt Fagor

BOSCH Siemens

Candy Hoover

indesit

exquisit

LG

Samsung

Panasonic

Daewoo

Maybe someone can complete the list and tell us something about the manufacturer or the re-labelling thing...

Blomberg

Hi Chris, do you mean for what is the current owner of the brand? For example Blomberg was a Brandt brand until Fagor sold this brand to Beko. Regards Andy

For the Italian manufacturers here's the list

SMEG which also owns White Westinghouse in Europe (also SMEG builds washer/dryers and integrated washers for many other companies like old Hotpoint, Whirlpool, Gorenje (also dishwashers) etc, while it gets back the interior of many refrigerators from Whirlpool and Gorenjie and top loading washers while its low end not fashion freestanding washing machines were made by BSH, Gorenjie and Arcelik group depending on the line)
They possess the Bonferraro S.p.A. that builds washing appliances and Apell that produces sinks and pressed metal parts for the other appliances. Apell also sells under its own name.
Indesit company that has Indesit, Ariston, Hotpoint, Creda, Scholtes, Philco of Europe. They pretty much produce everything by themselves.
Antonio Merloni that has Servis, ARDO, and many store brands (but the company is much downsized after the bankruptcy) and also Asko up to 2011. They produced pretty much by themselves but also had some pieces done by others.
Candy group have Candy, Hoover, Iberna, Jinling (China), Gasfire, Rosieres, Zerowatt and Vyatka (Russia)
Baumatic, Nardi, Bompani, etc have outsourced most or all their production to other companies.
Foster specializes in steel products so I believe they build their own ovens and appliances but not the dishwashers.

Feel free to correct me if there are errors or omissions

Almost correct, Nardi does produce it's own hobs, ovens and cookers, but sourced the rest from antonio merloni and more recently vestel.

Asko is now part of gorenje, as is atag and mora.

Here's an interesting site for brands available on the British market. You can click on a brand for more details.

There was a website for all brands around the world IIRC, but I can't find it.

Thanks Louis!

@ Andy: Yeah, the current owner is the most interessting fact about a brand, isn't it? But if someone knows former manufacturers, why not list them, too?
