It is a very sad month (October) as by the end of the month i have to vacate the garage i have been using for the last 5 years, I therefore am going to have to get rid of all my beloved machines as i have no where else to store them, I will keep one machine and possibly a dryer for myself so that when when that pile-of-shite Aqualtis packs up i can at last have real washing machine in the house.

i will offer these machines out to people within the group that want them, if anyone is interested you can contact me by email on my profile page.

Gary

I am so sorry for you and the situation. I hope something turns up as an alternative space before you have to get rid of your collection.

Cheers Tom the garage i have (pro tem) is ideal in so many ways, secure, power, water, any garages that you rent from the local council are in pretty shite areas and i dont think the machines would last long what with every other unemployed bloke doing scrap metal

I also have health issues and am not strong enough to do heavy maintenance work on the machines which is also a problem

I cannot imagine what it will be like to not have these machines in my life im still grappling with the whole thing

Still we shall see maybe i will take up Macrame ;-)

I hope you can find a good home for the Keymatics as they are really museum items. Actually, that is a thought, if you have any local museums that exhibit such things you could offer them on loan.

Hi Gary,

so sorry you're having to go through this. I've had to divest myself of most of my appliance collection this year for financial reasons, so I feel your pain.

The only consolation is the knowledge that they will hopefully go to homes that'll cherish and enjoy them as much as you did - I've taken comfort in the delight of the new owners of my ex-machines. And you should take pride in the fact that you've been able to rescue some real heritage pieces, and saved them from oblivion!

Hope your health shows an improvement, and everything is rehomed successfully.

Simon

Hey Gary,

Really sorry to hear about your health issues and hope things work out / get better for you!

I also hope you are able to find another storage location SOON!   Do you have a self-storage facility anywhere near you?   This should prevent or delay disposing of your collection until you can find another solution.

Kevin

a special thanks to kevin who has asked me.... to live with

You are very welcome Gary!   However I would only have room for the 3 keymatics.   We'd also have to see how Westy does with cats.   Though I fear he may decide one day the guinea pigs are lunch.... (everyone says I don't feed him enough)!  (not true, not true)   Also yes, it may get a little shaky around here once in a while, but it doesn't happen often AND you'll get used to it!   Laughing  Tongue out

Gary,

It's sad for me to read about you having to divest your collection like that and I'd have been more than happy to have helped you with garage space or under house space had you been here....

Hugs mate, and I hope your health kicks back.

Shaky Ground

electron1100's profile picture
Well i got be honest Kevin the ground can be a little shaky here aswell especially with some machines spinning.

Hmm dog eating my guinea pigs hmmmm these a rare breed killer type that eat meat aswell as anything they devour so maybe they will be ok ;-)

Ron
Thanks matey now i have started the ball rolling and alot of the machines have been claimed its not so worrying now, though when they are gone i dunno I keep telling myself its all for the better....FEK OFF it is ;-), I'll just keep on the pills an see

Now the state of play has changed so here is a list of whats going:-

A3190/D6142 dryer
A3060/D6042 dryer
A3794logic/Logic dryer
A3243H Keymatic
A3138 AS1
3203 Keymatic
3062 Keymatic
Hoover Toploader
A3308 awaiting confirmation

Now i wont tell you whos having what or they might start ripping each others eyes out or pulling hair (never a pretty sight)..... :-)

Thanks again
Gary

Gary must be really bad having to get rid of your collection. At least the members on here will love them just as much and make sure they have a future in stead of ending up on a pile somewhere. I know what you mean about the council garages. They wouldnt be secure if they are anything like the ones by me as the kids smash thru the roof's to see what they can pinch.

I'm not too groovy with health issues mate but hope you manage to get through parting with your machines. Were all here for you matey

Robbie

Sorry to hear that your collection is going

I hope you manage to find good homes for them all.
As transport is often a problem I thought members might like to know that I have a contact who will move a washer to anywhere in mainland Britain for £50.00.
Darren from Lincoln has used him and so have I without any problems at all, the only thing is collection and delivery is when he is in the area so can take up to a month.
If anyone needs his number feel free to contact me.
Cheers
Lance

Sorry to hear the news. Id' be in shock if it came to that , some machines I've had for 30 years now. But the day will come sometime.

Hope you can find your way back health wise and its nice to hear the bulk of your machines will live on in other collections. Too bad there is a pond seperating those Keymatics from Dr Frigidaire!

Hello Robbie thanks matey , things change some times for the good sometimes not but hey ho we are still here :-)

and as you say i am very pleased that the machines are staying within the group and not ending up in a rental property.

Lance thanks for saying about the delivery guy, moving these things about is hard work at times, one of the machines came from Stockton way up north, its thanks to several members who relayed it down to me that i got it.

Doctor Frigidaire
I know its a shame but in a way i feel kind of safe with the pond between us, coz i am sure if you were here I couldnt refuse you anything :-)

So chaps thanks again
Gary

My thoughts are with you and the only comfort is that the machines are staying within the group, so you know all will be in safe hands and cherished, most importantly available for you to visit in there new homes once in a while.
