As I recall, old Maytags don't have clutches - they use a special belt that can slip without undue wear. What you describe does sound like a motor problem. I had an old Maytag back in the '80's. I believe it was a 50's model. Anyway, replacing the motor was very simple, and back then it cost all of $35. | ||
