I got my matched 1956 imperial set home the other day and did some playing and cleaning and I am pleased to announce that the washer fired up and worked flawlessly with nothing more then a new cord and a repair of the lid switch. I cleaned out the tub and filled it with hot water and let it sit for half an hour before letting the machine run for a few minutes and then spin. All seems well. I will need to replace the cord and drain hose due to age and damage but other then that it should be good for awhile. I will next focus on the dryer. Here is a photo of a maiden splashy wash.

Congrats! That's a really nice machine you got! The agitator seems to be in nice shape too. I wish my '57 still had it's original agitator.

That is a nice surprise, still working! Congrats again on the new washer, a very rare find.

What a beauty!

A really pretty console, so nice to see it's back doing what it was made to do.

Very Nice!

You really scored an that pair! I can't wait to see them soon. It might inspire me to tackle my sleeping babies in the garage.

What, No Video?

You systematically, and Unimaticaly left us hanging without a video of that gem running. If you see a WCI machine burning on your front lawn, you'll know who and why! LOL I figured the only machine that was worthy of burning, was a WCI product! Don't leave us hanging...........
Hugs,
David

Great machine! '56 seems to be the year the washer designers at Frigidaire stepped up their game. Glad it's running with a minimum of repair, too.

Me too!! I've procrastinated long enough. I'm getting the bug. Maybe we should rebuild together!
