Well, here I go again - more stuff about Maytag Model 30 'Gray Ghost' wringer washers! Here's one available in Jefferson, Iowa - seems like a prime candidate for restoration! (appears to be in much better shape than mine was - there doesn't appear to be much corrosion on the tub's interior.) Hope somebody saves it from the dump or recycler.

I have

a great idea Brad. Since you did such a beautiful job on your Model 30 why not begin a business and sell refurbished ones to us less able to do a restoration? I want to be the first on the list to come pick one up. Just kidding my friend. I would love to have one but just don't have the ability nor the room to restore it. I see them around here sometimes and some appear to be in even better shape than the one pictured here. I am very envious of your having done all the work on your green beauty. Best to you and happy Maytaging !!

Jim

Restoration business...hmmmm

Jim...I would actually love to do that! I'd need to establish an economical means of transporting machines to Canada -or- just move to the States and start the business there! That makes more sense as Maytag "Gray Ghosts" are quite rare here in Canada. It would be a fun business - vintage appliance restoration of all kinds! Thanks for your compliments on my restoration- I love that machine and use it about once a month.
