These were mentioned several months ago on here and are now availble. Control panel looks pretty cluttered, I think.

Those smack of rebadged "LG" products. GE hasn't made a quality laundry product since the 70's.

LG washer shown for reference.

Why would GE put the sump on the other side of the machine?

Didn't say it was the exact model, just resembled LG products. Just for the record, it's not typical to find a US domestic front loader to have a trap door on the front at all.

Chance

Even the remote chance the LG is building these machines for GE would steer me away from them.

There are many things GE does well.

whirlykenmore78's profile picture
Appliances is not one of them. They should stick to: Jet engines, medical equipment, electrical generation machinery, motors and freight locomotives.

I find it almost laughable that GE can build some of the best equipment that we put our lives on the line for - jet engines and medical. But they can't build a good washing machine.

GE

I thought GE was trying to make a fresh start by bring manufacturing back into the States.  Perhaps it is still too early to tell.

GE's front-loaders are made by a Chinese company called "Little Swan".

Samsung makes some of there I should know after they told me point blank parts from samsung where on back order. The service person could not get over it being a samsung also. But motor stand samsung for ge. Way to tell if you see one put it to end and if it plays that dumb samsung song there you go. This is the one by samsung I had it in my home but it was in the shop more then used at home for sure right down to the samsund tub,

GE Range

I was invited out to dinner last night and my host had a 30" GE electric range with push buttons in avacado. In mint condition I might add...

The above message comes from a very tired Nick and a hand left on the keyboard as he was falling aleep.

I wanted to laugh so hard, I had to struggle to keep quiet as I snuck to the keyboard and hit send so you could enjoy the Tired Nick post as well.

GE has figured out it is easier to just re badge a rudimentary household appliance design from another manufacturer and divert it's engineering resources to those more profitable areas of the medical and aerospace industries.
Too bad.

The machine posted at top is actually a new design from GE's billion-dollar U.S. appliance investment. It's designed AND built right here in the states (see link for details).

I like it -- sensible cycle options and only a couple gimmicks. I think it looks great and I"m rooting for GE on this one!

I love the built-in riser concept. It's about time!

It looks nice, but I'm not a fan of front loaders plus I'm more of a Whirlpool/Maytag fan.
