Cool orange toploader! The second one is a condenser dryer. The third a wringer washer with an impeller.

Noris...

... is a name that has been used more often for Lavamat models. IIRC they already had a Noris model in the late fifties.

European Appliance Design Shows

...would be interesting to attend, if there are such events for consumers. The designs of these machines, like the one that looked like a toilet seat, are probably just a hint at the diversity in designs found from different countries.

daft name "Noris"

not daft at all, Gentlemen!

Noris being the Latin-based nickname version of "Nürnberg" (Nuremberg)
That is where the real quality Lavamats were built back then, before everything went abroad (and out of business later due to managers' speculations and miscalculations).

AEG used to take the "Noris" tag every now and then, beginning in the late 50s.
It usually described some sort of extra model out of the regular line (other option buttons, other trims or colours). Sometimes it was just used to sell the machines to warehouses and catalogue retailers to give the "knowing client" a hint that this very machine came from Nürnberg and no matter what the new re-labelling: You can be sure it is an AEG inside.

The Turnette TS is a compact H-axis toploader. It doesn't spin, so a separate spin dryer would be needed. It's not only compact, but it also weighs a lot less than a regular European washer.

The TS is an older model, later came the SL models. These have more options and are a bit more flexible than the TS models.

That's a compact frontloader, IIRC they are manufactured in Austria. The capacity is 3kg. The downside of these machines is that they don't have suspension. They can shake quite a bit. When they start spinning they tumble quite a bit in both directions and when the load is balanced they spin.
