Friends have asked for stuff and now that I have an iphone because I flooded my 10 year old flip-open phone while riding in the rain yesterday, I can deliver the goods. These requests are really from years and years ago, like a hundred, but I never forgot.
So here they are, guys and gals, for your enjoyment. First is Glenn's asking for a close-up of the 77 Golden Whirlpool Imperial. This dial shows the huge double cooldown PP cycle and the Knits cycle with one cooldown. |

I know you're not a full load guy but I'd love to see a shot in the Norge with the water wings at the top of the agitator paddling away. Does it resemble a full load in the Timeline automatics? |

I resisted a new phone like crazy. I'd see people whipping their fingers across the screens like Tom Cruise in "The Minority Report." and OH OH OH this is too futuristic for me; my phone works just fine, thanks. But talking on the phone while riding in Lakeside Park as the trickle turned to light rain, the old reliable took on too much moisture. So I set it in a nice bowl of dry brown rice, the usual fix, but the 1, 4, 7 dot-pads wouldn't work. It was high time I took the dive. Everyone says the iphones are so easy.
And Art let me tell you, they really are. The first thing I said to the Verizon Guy was show me how to make a call. In some ways it's even easier than the old flipper. I got the phone in the afternoon and I was taking pix after dinner with one trip back to have them set up the email account to I could send the pics to myself them drag them into the library on my computer. Greg, I actually went there with the Visi pic waiting to be sent the Verizon Guy was trying to tell me I should be able to sent it right to Aworg. I had to explain to him, a delightful uber tekkie how that isn't possible SO FAR, but some some day, sure. Phil and Gene, in fact, I got the rain jacket, certain that one future afternoon, I'll jump in the lake having forgotten to pull the phone out of the pocket of my trunks. The guy told me he stunned people on Memorial day Weekend by throwing his phone into their swimming pool. "Are you on drugs," they protested. Fred, the top comes off the Blackstone so easily, I can see the sockets. You've given me an idea till Christmas comes, I'd like to replace the orange lights with blue. Oh, Kelly, I put the sheets and shaving towels to soak in the 56 Frig before coming here. I'll rinse them in the Norge for you later this afternoon. It should be a very pictorial afternoon for you and Frigilux. Because the tub is so much wider the load turns over rather than thrashing to and fro. But I have water shooting slits atop rather than wings. Art, this genie is so sensitive that you only need the lightest touch. I thought I took six pix, but at bedtime I hit the photo icon and saw TWELVE of them: the floors, my hand, the wall, my foot, and this pretty pic that I took while only composing the shot. I guess there's a spot on the screen that takes the pic without even hitting the button. This cycle is wonderful. On the letter "A" in wash is a black triangle where the overflows commence after washing for only 3 minutes, then a one minute spin, a 2 minute overflow rinse, and a three minute DRY at slow speed. it's a really neat, very fast cycle. |

Fred, somewhere in the house is a manual you sent me years ago, a good sized, stapled copy from your now sold archives. I'll find it and see about that steel plate behind the lights. The machine is so solid and well-built, that document will come in handy. Thank you.
Greg, according to the urban myth and oral tradition, this machine hails from the smelting furnace of none other than Jon Jetcone, one of the founders and patrons of our order, Phil, Verizon, my carrier, has a store just two miles away. If the greeting rep can't solve the problem fast, your name is entered on a tablet, it goes up on a monitor, you find out the approximate wait time, and they actually keep a record of how long you've been there. No wait the first visit, ten minutes the second. Kelly, what wash batter or dough can I mix up for you next? |

I am just amazed at your wonderful collection, but the deck and view is to die for. Congratulations on your new phone. Great, great pictures. John |

Thanks John, I waited and saved money half a lifetime to live on the lake, and then it came to pass. Grateful every day.
Speak of the devil, Glenn: I was just telling my 90 year old friend Jasper how you could date his old Whirpool by the numbers; he can't remember when he bought it. Aunt alice had no repairs to the Gold Pool, nor have I tinkered, so the knob should be factory issue. Interested to hear more. |

of going to the auto parts store. Bingo: they sell it by the foot, I need 18 inches, so I bought the two foot piece to cut, and two nice new steel clamps.
But the drain port is clogged, and I can't get at it so far. Poured boiling vinegar into the port last night. Still hasn't budged--not on drop of vinegar had seeped thru. Oh what's a washer man to do? |
