![]() I'll see if I can locate the listing again.
My interest only involves hand held bottle openers that use a downward motion as opposed to upward. They're easier to use and don't bend the cap. I don't brew my own beer, but apparently people who do will take care in removing bottle caps so they can re-use them. My cousin is into beer and would appreciate an opener that doesn't damage the caps, so I've been on the lookout for one.
I'm not willing to give up my own vintage Trinco ReCap opener, though. It's the best I've ever used, and it's very effective at re-sealing. I used it to open a bottle of sparkling cider and it re-sealed the cap tightly. I'm hoping I can find another one, but it took a year of looking before I came across one on eBay and snagged it for my sister this past May.
As you can see in the (bad) link above, the Pabst opener in the foreground uses a downward motion. I just don't know if the bump could cause damage to a cap. |

![]() I searched "vintage bottle opener coldspot" and several of them came up, so I guess they're not exactly rare.
Dual purpose items, as they can also be used for cracking vintage ice trays. CLICK HERE TO GO TO rp2813's LINK on eBay |
