Is this GE high enough in the lineup?

Yes, I'd like to know more. I am going N.U.T.S. trying to make a new range - damn near any range - happen. There's a great TOL one in Minneapolis, but no response to emails.

BTW, this appears to be just one model off the TOL, which is fine. Do you have any idea if it has a light for the cooktop?

I'll look, I think it does have a light.

The deal I mentioned? If we can figure a way to get it to Iowa, it's yours. I just picked it up this morning, it needs some cleaning, and I haven't even plugged it in! Pretty sure the missing burner is in the drawer, or I'm sure I have one.

Good with the almond?

Just checked, no light. Also, there is something wrong with the door latch, so that would need looked at.

Since I haven't burned my bridges with the Almond 806 pair I have, the Almond range is fine. The goal is a complete set of matching majors - range, fridge, DW, washer and dryer. Of all those appliances, ranges and laundry are the ones that can't have the color changed readily, because of the porcelain tops (unless you're talking Whirly laundry, of which I am no fan).

So yeah, Almond would work, thanks.

Problem:

Kenny:

As kind as this is, I am really in need of a cooktop light.

The reason is that my tiny kitchen is poorly lighted, and there is absolutely no way to add a vent hood over the range. There are no cabinets above the range's space, there is a closet behind the space (against code to run ducting through there), and going through the roof for ducting is Not Happening, according to the landlord (he allowed a tenant to put in a bathroom fan ducted through the roof several years ago, and getting it leak-free took a long time and a lot of expense, I understand). Cooking is presently a real challenge, because it is darker than a coal mine in that corner.

I am so sorry to have taken your time with this. It is unbelievably kind of you to offer.

Anyone making a run between Iowa and Twin Cities?

Yes, as it has for the past three years.

Thanks again!

The Minneapolis range is sweet!  I do believe I had that exact range in a home that I bought in 1987.  I always LOVED that styling.
