I loved the POD! That was my mom's first automatic washer. I remember the tub light and the little red pilot light! Such a neat maching and it gave many years of great service. It sure brings back the memories!!

Terry, we may have discussed this before, but is this per chance the one that spins at 1140 rpm? I believe you had told me she had the matching dryer as well.

Today's Picture of the Day is the same machine that I have, the AW5 model from 1951. This was the first belt-drive design and spins at 650rpm. The AW6 models made from 1947-1950 spin at 1140.

Is this also the one that "morphs" from agitate to spin? Is that right? it slowly transitions?

Hi Scott, no I don't believe that it had the 1140rpm spin speed. And yes we did have the matching dryer. They were a beautiful pair and the envy of the neighborhood.LOL
