The style of buttons on first appeared about 1978 and if I recall correctly hung around in one style or another until sometime in the early 1980s.  I have never seen that exact model.  It may have been a special edition.  I'm sure Gordon can enlighten us when he see this.

It's not electronic other than featuring moisture-sensing auto-dry.  The controls are analog/mechanical, and six selections on the temp dial is misleading ... only high, low, and air.

Rare or not, after seeing some of the beautiful and intricate consoles on the older models, this is quite a let down. It's as if the industrial designers that did the styling on this one just didn't give a @#!% anymore. But maybe it's just me. For all I know someone out there loves this sort of thing.

This style was the precursor before the first electronic console was introduced. I need to check my Sears cat. 76-78 to verify!
