For salt, maybe, but other spices need to be kept from heat to avoid degradation and deterioration. |

The difference between a 55 and a 56, mine does NOT have the tilt out bin/spice cabinet, also, my ovens are dark blue ,the 56 are more like GE starlite grey. |

The big old jar of my mom's CURRY POWDER, which on some fried chicken breasts, helped save an old, dilapidated salad, proves that OLD SPICES NEVER DIE!!!!
I miss features like that on a range to store your cooking condiments & supplements on... Some manufacturers long ago even provided the jars... -- Dave |
