I'm getting a used dual drawer set in white from a local store and was wondering if it is possible to change the color panel kit?
I couldn't find a model number anywhere, but really didn't know where to look... I guess if I can't find a way to change the color to black I better not get the set lol..
Out of curiosity, these machines don't have upper arms above the drawers do they?
The point of this purchase is for a gift to my mother. She's always wanted a set. |

Prefinished units aren't factory-supplied with changeable panels ... but the panel can of course be changed if the part item is available. There are several styles of prefinished panels and drawer handles depending on which model unit is involved. A white panel could perhaps be painted black. The model number is on a sticker on back of the cabinet, and should also be on the cabinet facia panel at the lower left of the upper drawer, visible when it's open. |

have a small screen/badge or just a set of 3 buttons?
If its the 3 buttons you remove the front panel by taking out 2 plastic pins drop the door out and unscrew the metal from the coloured front and replace with a door of your choice. I have worked on both designs now and have discovered that here at least they are identical apart from the badge or buttons but the fronts are interchangeable. Austin |

This model doesn't have integrated panels, just the factory white with the screen and three buttons. Its an older model that has the bar of LEDs with the fast forward and leaf buttons on the lip of each drawer.
I appreciate the replies. Any ideas where I can find the model number so I can see if a black kit is available? He's gonna let me set the unit up and run a few loads to see if there are leaks etc. In all honesty is 400 a fair price to pay for an older set? |

I would paint the panels black, either do it yourself or take them to an auto shop, or at least get it installed and see if it even works and whether your Mom likes it before investing in New Black panels.
The bigger problem is the price of the DW, I would not pay anything close to that price UNLESS it comes with at least a Full 1 Year in home warranty that is backed by a reputable local service operation.
These DWs are know for having many problems and service here in the US has been usually less than great. These DWs are also very flimsy and are easily damaged when being removed and transferred to a new location and being reinstalled unless it is done very carefully. |
