According to ApplianceMagazine.com, the Whirlpool version of the Kenmore He2 will receive an onboard heater in a second release:

"The Duet Sport(TM) model will be available in March 2006 and the Duet Sport(TM) HT model, with a super-capacity washer drum and high-temperature “sanitary cycle,” will be available in May 2006."

yep

 thats what whirlpool told us in training, there will be a he2t, 2 color changes for the he4t(sedona,and graphite are going away. and being repaced with a black w/metalic flake, and a secret color.
